A morning down Duchess Pond.

A walk through the wood in Stoke Park,
down the hill found me in a swim on the south bank.

Usual ground bait mix, Vitalin, Baillies No1
Sweetcorn, maggots, and Casters.

First cast was the feeder rod to just short
of the halfway point.
The second rod was a float rod cast
too the Lilly Pads on my left.

Maggot and Worm caught Perch and Roach,
not many today very slow.
I had put in 5 tennis ball size ground bait balls,
and loose Corn, Maggots and chopped worm.

The feeder line was even slower,
with the same ground bait.

At around 7.30 the feeder rod pulled slowly
round and after a short tussle
this 5lb 3oz Bream was landed.

I then changed the float rod to
a feeder rod. this was because the
wind had picked up making
good presentation in possible.

Just as well, as shortly after
this 5ld 1oz Bream was on the unhooking mat.

By 11 there were no more bites so I headed home.

A morning on Duchess Pond

A 15 minutes walk from my home and a shallow mist over the water found me tackling up a feeder rod and a float rod.

I also mixed up my ground bait, putting out 4 tennis ball size balls to the Lillie's for my float swim. Also 10 feeders full to my feeder swim.

I had size 14 hooks to 3lb line on both rods. The feeder line was about a third of the way across the lake.

Result was about 2lb of small perch and 1 Roach on the float rod. The feeder line had 3 Bronze Bream  6lb 10  6lb 12 and 6lb 14. All caught in a 10 to 12 minute spell.

I fished 5.15 till 9.45 this morning.

I hope to start this blog up again if I can.
