I've been out walking the Bristol Frome.

It was slow and green
and at the usual summer
level.

What was strange, was the lack of fish coming to
bread and other baits
I have been offering.

What wasn't very good
were the number of anglers fishing.
What's the point of having a
a close season if its not being
policed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never mind,
hope this yuk weather is going to move on
as I will be fishing a river
somewhere.
Not the Frome.
(To many walkers on a weekend)

GOOD LUCK
TO ALL
RIVER FISHERMAN
ON THE
MAGIC 16th June!

Using up left over bait. 09-06-13. Rockingham

High tide today was at
09.00 and 12.1mtrs.

Looking at the
Sea Bank power station
and the grass bank from the mud.

I started fishing at
07.00.
First cast produced a small
12 inch Codling,
on a pennel pulley rig
loaded with Lug, Squid
and Crab.

About an hour latter
I had an other
Drop back bite which again produced
a slightly larger Codling.
This fell to the same rig.

There was a
light easterly breeze
and warm.

Packed up at 10am
as the bait had run out.
Without any more
bites.

 Avonmouth across the mud.

Rockingham sunday 08-06-13

Tacking Squid, Lug, Rag and Peeler crab
I started fishing with the usual rigs
at 06.30.

High tide was at 08.30
and 12.2mtrs.

Well what is there to say,
light north east wind
and quite warm.

Not a bite or rattle.

Pretty poor
but nice morning.

Bagwood Lake fishing well. 21-05-13

Started the day off on the pole
with sweetcorn on size 14 hook.
3 Bream to 4lb 14oz
and a lost carp was a nice start.
But some thing switched the fish off
corn, so changed to the maggot.
 This produced periods of
no action, so switching
between a waggler rod and pole
I manged to keep a steady flow
of some nice roach, rudd and
small perch.
This roach hit 15oz
on the scales.
Total bag was around 25lb.

I also used a ledger rod with popped up corn
fished over pellet, caster. corn and hemp.
Not a touch.

The other couple of anglers failed to catch anything.

Another nice outing.

I hope to get out fishing
again with in the
next two weeks.

Family illness and other family
problems have taken up my spare time.

Another trip, another result down Baltic Wharf. 07-05-13

Another chance of a mornings fishing
found me on the Wharf.

I started fishing at 07.30.

Only had Maggot for hook bait,
over ground bait and loose feed Hemp.

Two nice Dace on the first two put-ins
and I was feeling pretty good.

But!
The bites slowed right down to less than drip,
I really struggled to find the fish. I fished
from 1ft over depth to 3ft up.

The only thing different
was that water was clearer.

A warm and sunny morning
with a light breeze
picking up later.

Baltic Wharf 02-05-13

A chance to get down to
Baltic Wharf
this morning, produced some nice sport.

I started fishing at
07.40
and used  maggot and caster
over ground bait.
I loose feed 6- 10 maggots
and caster as well as hemp
every couple of minutes.

10 minutes in and a good Dace
was in the bag,
and that started a steady
flow of bites.
This ended up producing
about 4lb
of
Dace, Skimmers
and a couple of roach.

All bites were on the
7 - 9 mtr line.

What a lovely
morning's fishing.
I packed up at 12.15.

Watch out for the
Cormorant
it knows there are plenty of fish
out there.
